ICC's Constitution
I. NAME
This Church shall be named Irvine Community Church (ICC). ICC shall be an independent nondenominational church.
II. STATEMENT OF FAITH
A. We believe the Bible is the verbal (in its words, thoughts, and concepts), plenary (in its entirety), inspired (God-breathed, God-delivered), Word of God and that it is infallible (perfect truth) and inerrant (without error) in the original languages of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
B. We believe the Bible is the complete (nothing may be added to or subtracted from it) and final arbiter of all truth.
Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:5,6; Colossians 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 4:12; Revelation 22:18,19
C. We believe in the holy triune God and in the unity of the Godhead. We believe the Godhead consists of three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity—God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. We believe the Godhead eternally exists in these three Persons and the three Persons are one God having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections and are worthy of all worship, faith, and obedience.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:12-16; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-4; John 10:30; John 15:26; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14

D. We believe in God the Father, the first Person of the Godhead, who is the author and designer of creation, salvation, and every spiritual blessing.
Genesis 1:1; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:3-6
Genesis 1:1; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:3-6
E. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the second Person of the Godhead, in His virgin birth, and in His incarnation (His coming to earth in human flesh).
Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-33; John 1:1-5, 14; Philippians 2:6-8; Colossians 2:8-9
Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-33; John 1:1-5, 14; Philippians 2:6-8; Colossians 2:8-9
F. We believe in the substitutionary sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ through His death on the cross (His shed blood) which is the only foundation and means of eternal salvation. This death is meaningless without the bodily resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (see section II.G).
Isaiah 53; Romans 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:12-17; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:22; Revelation 1:5
Isaiah 53; Romans 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:12-17; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:22; Revelation 1:5
G. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in His ascension in that body to the right hand of God the Father.

Acts 1:9-11; Acts 7:56; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 1:3
H. We believe all people are sinners and are under God's just condemnation. The only way for sinners to receive the benefits purchased by the death of Christ (see section II.F) is to repent and come by God's grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, trusting Jesus as their only means of salvation.
John 3:16; Acts 3:19; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
John 3:16; Acts 3:19; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
I. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will come again for His Church, at which time those who are believers shall be transformed into bodies like unto the Lord's glorious body.
Luke 12:40; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Titus 2:13; 1 John 3:1-3
Luke 12:40; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Titus 2:13; 1 John 3:1-3
J. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, and in His work of conviction of sin, His work of salvation, and His indwelling in the believer to teach the believer God's truth, to give the believer victory over sin, and to empower the believer for service.

John 14:16-17; John 16:7-11; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9-13; Ephesians 1:13
K. We believe in the eternal bodily and spiritual salvation of all believers and the eternal bodily and spiritual condemnation of all non-believers.

L. We believe our chief ministry is to glorify God (see section III.B.1). We are to proclaim the Gospel of saving grace and to disciple Christians in the faith. We believe God's people should live holy lives that are pleasing to God and should abstain from every form of evil.
Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 22:32; Acts 1:8; Romans 14:7-19; 1 Corinthians 10:31; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; 2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Peter 2:11.

M. We believe all believers and only believers should be baptized to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and in obedience to Christ’s command. We believe however, that baptism is neither a condition of salvation, nor a requirement for fellowship with other believers, and does not confer special grace.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12
Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12
N. We believe all Christians are to observe the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ's sacrificial death, until Christ returns. Furthermore, we believe participation in the Lord's Supper does not bring special grace from God.
